What is DryzX™ Waterproof Fabric Technology?
DryzX™ is Horzehoods’ proprietary high-performance fabric system developed in collaboration with our manufacturing partner. It combines ultra-high waterproofing with engineered stretch and exceptional breathability bringing outerwear-level performance to riding breeches.
Independent laboratory testing of DryzX™ confirms:

Waterproof rating: approx. 18,700mm hydrostatic head (JIS L 1092:2025 Method B)

Breathability rating: approx. 32,400 g/m²/24hr MVTR (JIS L 1099:2021 B1)
This level of performance is very rare in equestrian wear and sets QuickMount™ Breches apart which is the first concept we have designed with this new fabric.
How to Care for Your QuickMount™ Breeches (DryzX™ Fabric System)
DryzX™ is a technical membrane-based fabric system. Proper care protects waterproof performance, breathability and stretch integrity.
Washing

Machine wash at 30 °C maximum, gentle/synthetics cycle.

Use non-bio liquid detergent only.
-
Do not use fabric conditioners/softeners (these block technical finishes).

Do not use powder detergents (they leave residue).
-
Do not use bleach.
-
Close all zips, fasten stirrup loops, and secure waistband before washing.
Drying

Hang dry only do not tumble dry (heat can compromise membrane adhesion or seam-tape integrity).

Dry on a robust hanger so legs hang straight and maintain shape.
Ironing / Steam

If required, use a low synthetic heat setting with a pressing cloth.

Do not apply high heat or drag iron across outer face.
-
Avoid ironing over seam taped areas.
Maintaining Water Beading
While the waterproof structure of DryzX™ functions internally, the outer fabric face benefits from occasional DWR (Durable Water Repellent) refresh.
Signs your DWR is wearing:

Water stops beading on surface and begins to “wet out” (darken)

Moisture begins to absorb into fabric surface
Re-treatment steps:

Wash the garment first (per “Washing” above).

Hang dry until damp.
-
Apply a spray-on DWR treatment only.
-
Ensure thorough coverage (especially seams and high contact areas).
-
Allow 24 hours cure time before next ride.

STORAGE

Store the breeches hung, not folded or crushed, to preserve stretch and shape memory.

Keep away from direct heat sources, radiators, and prolonged sunlight exposure.
